I think another catch up is in order, it’s fair to say a lot has happened recently. So please take a seat, grab a coffee (or tea, or smoothie, or double vodka and coke, whatever beverage tickles your fancy) and let’s catch up.
If we were having coffee…I’d actually go for something like ginger tea as I’m currently rather ill, so in need of a boost!
If we were having coffee…I’d tell you how crazy 2017 has been already, and we’re only into February?! I have high hopes for the months to come, in both my blogging and general life.
If we were having coffee…I’d tell you how I’m looking at new cameras, wanting to travel and up my blogging game I feel it’s a good investment, but me being the paranoid perfectionist I am, endless hours of research are in order!
If we were having coffee…I’d tell you I’m now self hosted!! And after all my mini panics and regrets I’m super happy. Everything I worried about was simply in my head and thanks to the wonderful people at Siteground, who somehow managed to put up with my constant questions and worries, everything is sorted and I now own my site. Also I got rid of the second Y – never really knew why I put it there in the first place?!
If we were having coffee…I’d tell you that I’ve also revamped my blog! When going self hosted I bought a cheap £2 theme off Etsy which was actually really nice and I got so many compliments from! But it wasn’t very me, I wanted something clean and simple, but professional. So purchased a theme from Kotryn Bass Designs and I’m so happy! There’s still a bit of tweaking to do, but nothing major!
If we were having coffee…I’d tell you I’ve decided to no longer participate in as many promo/commenting hours on Twitter. They’ve always had mixed opinions upon bloggers, personally, I have nothing wrong with them, I enjoy supporting other people and finding new blogs – and it is a really good way to promote yourself. But of course there’s the element of insincerity and some people not actually reading and appreciating your posts. And being such an advocate of not pushing traffic in or forcing followers, letting success come naturally with time, I feel a tad hypocritical. Of course I will still use these hours to discover new blogs, my favourite for this is #TeacupClub’s one if you were wondering, but I won’t be promoting my own posts through them as much.
If we were having coffee…I’d tell you I’m thinking of starting doing some cheap and even free advertising on my blog! I’m obviously not a huge blogger, but I want to help people get noticed more! As we all know how hard it can be. I’m yet to really think through logistics but it’s on the cards!
If we were having coffee…I’d tell you me and my chummy (Who also now has a blog ahhh!) are booking a trip to Venice and I am beyond excited!! Also, return tickets to Venice for £34? Just take my money.
If we were having coffee…I’d tell you that I’ll be at #BloggersAreUs on Feb 11th and #BlogConLDN in March! And I’m so excited! I love blogger events and after being lucky enough to attend the #GoGlamGala a few weeks back I’m even more excited. I never thought I’d get this far with blogging let alone go to events and meet so many other lovely bloggers who have become such good friends to me.
If we were having coffee…I’d tell you I got a bullet journal! If you hadn’t already seen all the exciting tweets about it, I’ve not had it long but I’m loving it! Having your own system and freedom is exactly what I needed from a journal.
If we were having coffee…I’d tell you possibly the biggest news of 2017, I GOT INTO DRAMA SCHOOL! Again if you hadn’t already seen my tweets, I was accepted into Stella Mann College of Performing Arts to undertake a HND in Musical Theatre. And honestly, I am yet to reach cloud 9 because I still can’t fathom this. I’ve never been a dancer, I just never had the training, so musical theatre was always such an impervious goal because you have to be a strong ballet and jazz dancer – which frankly I was not. But Stella Mann saw the light in my singing and acting and as of September I will be moving to Bedford and training in an accredited drama school! It’s a dream come true. I’ve been asked what this will do to my blog as this course is rather intense, and to answer your question I have no clue, I won’t stop blogging however my posting may just be a bit more sporadic. But it’ll be worth it!
I think that’s enough catching up for one day.
Until next time,
