My Favourite Fragrances

Recently I’ve become more and more into scents and fragrances. Honestly for years I’ve just had my £10 Victoria Secret body spray staple and I was good to go. But suddenly one day I was all about the scents. I really don’t know what happened, maybe the gram got to me and I wanted some aesthetic bottles to display. And it’s fair to say the past few months I’ve been shopping around and found my go-to scents both high-end and high-street, so of course here I am to share my favourite frangrances for all occasions.

Primark Perfume

My most recent purchase was the jasmine and honey fragrance from Primark. My little face lit up when I saw these on the shelves and had to grab one! Also, I got the last one so if that’s not fate then??? I didn’t know what to expect of these ‘Jo Malone dupes’ as it was only £8, but I’m pleasantly surprised.

Firstly this scent is gorgeous. My go-to scent is fresh and clean, and this sums my preferences up in an aesthetically pleasing bottle. And the scent stays forever, it’s insane, you really don’t need to put much on.

This perfume is perfect for everyday as it’s so fresh and easy. However, I’d happily wear this on a night out – especially as you won’t need to top it up every 10 minutes! It is so worth the money (the whole 8 quid) and it has me so excited to try out the rest of their range.

Zara Perfume

Next up is quite possibly my all time favourite brand and scent. I give you, the tuberose scent by Zara. I think discovering Zara fragrances was a game changer to me. Firstly there are so many ranges and secondly, they all smell uh-mazing. I won’t even begin to tell you the amount of hours I spent sniffing random parts of my arm trying to decide which one to buy.

I went with this one because I found it more a safe scent, and more of a ‘me’ scent. Luckily, the Zara website describes the scents for you, which saves me trying to come up with a word that isn’t ‘fresh’ or ‘easy’. This was described  as ‘Floral – Fruity – Spicy’ with notes of blackcurrant, grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, musk, sandalwood and vanilla. I’d say that sums it up, the vanilla and sandalwood are probably the most prominent if you ask me, but it’ll be different on everyone’s skin.

Zara’s fragrances are like nothing I’ve seen or smelt before, they are all so unique and perfect for every occasion. This one particularly is my ‘coffee date’ scent – sort of everyday, but definitely one for the special occasions too. It’ll stay around for your whole day/night, however is definitely more subtle after a few hours. And get this, it was only £9.99?! I know. Their scents range from £3.99 to about £15 so you’re not breaking the bank at all!

Burberry Perfume

Lastly, we have a more high end product. As you can tell from my raving love of Primark and Zara, I like a good bargain. But i was given the Burberry Touch perfume for Christmas by my brother and I had to slip it in this post.

It’s describe as a soft casual fragrance, however for myself it’s probably the opposite. Not particularly because of the scent itself, it’s very similar to the rest, but because this stuff is strong. It has too many notes to include but the most recognizable ones are blackberries, rose, jasmine and peach. And it’s definitely primarily floral, the rose hits instantly and is very pleasant, just intense for a few seconds before it sinks into the skin. And this scent sticks around all day, you do not need to worry about this fading.

But I’d say the difference to the other scents is I do feel this one has a more ‘special’ tone to it. For someone who doesn’t invest in high-end products, especially scents, I like to keep this for special events or when I’m feeling fancy. But of course I’ve worn it on an average day too just not as much as the others.

This bottle retails for around £68 (ouch) but don’t worry, your friendly neighbourhood bargain hunter is here. If you go onto Frangrance Direct, this is only £26.50, which is a little bit more fathomable.

I’m not going to lie, I hate ending posts as I never know what to put. But I hope you liked this post!

Until next time,

Em x
