My Favourite Petite Brands

Raise your hand if you’re part of the 5ft3″ and under club.

We can all agree it’s not easy finding pieces that fit you perfectly when you’re part of, what I like to call now, the petite elite. From jeans to dresses it just always that bit too much too long or doesn’t sit properly on the shoulders. But, to give ’em some credit, brands are really upping their petite ranges. And I’ve found some brands are good for different things. So here are my favourite to shop from for petite clothing, and they’re all highstreet shops so your wallets not going to take a beating.

I’ve only recently discovered the petite range of Pretty Little Thing and I was instantly impressed. Sometimes I find that petite ranges are completely different to any of the brands regular bits, and almost a bit childish? Just a lot of pretty scallop dresses and loads of different jeans. But with PLT, it’s still their fab street style looks and also a lot of going out clothes, which are insane. So you can be small and sassy. And with over 400 items, they’ll accommodate to so many style as there’s joggers, skirts, tops, co-ords – literally everything. And at such a good price too. I’m around a 4/6 and would say they’re pretty true to size as well.

My favourite pieces on their site right now would probably be these:

New Look have been doing petite clothing for yonks now, so it’s no surprise that it’s in here. I used to always buy my jeans from New Look, mainly because I didn’t know where else to go and I was too stingy for Topshop. But I won’t lie, I did go off them for a little bit. I no longer buy my jeans from them, simply because I couldn’t deal that their high waisted jeans had 3 buttons. But as they didn’t have much which interested me for ages. However I’m please to say that’s well and truly changed. They have around 200 items in their petite range, which isn’t bad. But they’ve definitely made it more versatile for different styles, and made a few of their ‘regular’ pieces petite, which I’m all for.

Their style is very casual and a lot of cute camis and skirts, and that’s well incorporated in their petite range. I love when brands do petite skirts as regular just have an awkward length. They also have a few work wear bits, which is nice to see, as us small gals do have business to do too. As I said I used to always buy my jeans from them, and can confirm from writing this I’ve noticed they’ve made their high waisted jeans only 1 button. So I may well be going back to them. They last a very long time and are a lovely material, however for the first week everything sticks to them!

My favourite pieces from them right now would be:

I think this is a no brainer, right? Simply as ASOS not only do their own (fabulous) clothing. They sell so many different brands. So you’re bound to find something to suit you! ASOS is definitely my go-to for everything, as they have over 1,500 bits to choose from. So one of the biggest ranges if not the biggest. They literally have everything as well which is amazing, I can’t hype them enough. Their prices range from really affordable to a little bit more high end as they have so many brands. But it’s going to fit all tastes! I tend to buy their bodysuits as they sit really nicely and are really flattering on me. But I really want to try more of their dresses and playsuits. Especially as they have some gorgeous bits for summer!

My favourite pieces from them right now are:

Again, one I’ve only recently discovered but has soon become my favourite. But more because Missguided can be a bit awkward when it comes to their sizing. And weirdly enough, that always benefited me as a petite person. I tend to buy their regular Vice jeans as they fit as if they were petite. And I’ve bought a playsuit and a dress from them, both of which weren’t petite, but fitted as if they were.

But I have more recently been testing their petite range, and I really love it. With over 400 pieces they do accommodate, and it’s all very on trend. It keeps to Missguided’s style which is what I like to see. However with everything Missguided I’d definitely suggest reading reviews if there are any, and also knowing your measurements to refer to the size guide so you can be sure it’s going to fit okay.

My favourite pieces from them right now are:

I feel like people expect Topshop to be in this, so I just wanted to add I do love Topshop’s petite range, they’re an og petite range. But I wanted to show some more affordable shops in this post. Plus everyone already knows Topshop kills it.

So there are my current favourite brands for petite fashion! I know this isn’t for everyone, however I’ve wanted to do more petite fashion posts, being of a petite size. If you’re also of the 5ft3″ and under club I’d love to know your favourite brands too!

Until next time,

Em x

That’s so true, it’s very rare you come across a petite section in store – I’ve only ever seen one in New Look or Topshop. You’re very welcome!

Thank you! I’ve been struggling to find clothes that fit me (I’m 5′ 2″) as known of my local stores do petite ranges. I’m always weary about shopping online for clothes though!

It’s really annoying either having a very select choice or no choice at all! So long as you check the size guides and the return policies it’s not so bad shopping online! x
