May Favourties

I think I’ve only ever done a favourites post once on this blog. And it’s seemed to have disappeared off my blog?! But this month I’ve actually found myself loving quite a few things. So as the month is coming to a close, I thought I’d pop them all together in a May favourites post for you!

But can we just talk about how it’s nearly June?! I swear it was only Easter last week… Where has this year gone? I mean, I’m excited as it means summer. But if that days just want to slow down a little bit I’d be much appreciated. Anyway, onto my favourite things from May.

I was very confused as to what this is at first. But I get confused by most beauty products. But this is basically a yummy smelling moisturiser which has a bit of a thicker consistency so works perfectly as a primer. I fell in love with this product as soon as I opened it and smelt it. It has grapefruit in it which gives it this really fresh fruity scent. But this has become such a staple in my routine, you really don’t need much at all. It’s very lightwieght and feels so cushiony. Honestly I spent a good 10 minutes just prodding this…

It its such a perfect canvas for makeup, or just for a no makeup day. As it’s super hydrating and softening and as I have oily skin it’s perfect as it creates a nice matte coverage.

It’s no secret I’m as white as a marshmallow. And I feel like it would be weird for me to jump straight onto the fake tanning train. So I usually opt for gradual tan. And for ages I couldn’t find one that worked for me. Mainly because I have very sensitive skin on my legs and a lot of gradual tanners, although great, made my legs itch like mad. So I have to be careful with what I buy.

But I had heard so many good things about the gradual tanning milk so thought I’d give it a try. And I’ve not looked back. Firstly this smells so nice and nutty, and I’m a sucker for scents. This dries really quickly so is perfect for on the go and creates a lovely glowy, buildable colour. And it’s super affordable!

Another primer but I need a good primer. I have oily skin so I need a strong primer that won’t let my makeup slip. And when I was doing a student film last year the makeup artist kindly gave me a little sample of this to try. And I really didn’t use it until a few months ago, and I love it. It creates such a smooth, almost satin like finish and leaves your skin looking and feeling soft and plumped. It’s perfect for night out makeup as your makeup will stick for as long as you need.

I have like 3 high-end make up products. Because I’m a makeup novice. But I was very lucky to win this palette in a giveaway and it’s quickly become a favourite. I don’t usually contour a lot. However I do like a nice bronzey shade occasionally and if I go out I do sometime go to the other extreme and chisel the shizel out of my face. And this palette just serves all the contour goods.

There’s 3 contour shades and 3 lightening shades. All with a little plastic sheets of what they’re for which is so useful for someone like me. I particularly like this palette as it’s multi use and have really nice adaptable shades for every type of contour. And it’s just such a quality product, you don’t need much and it applies so nicely. It’s converted me to powder contour.

PRIMARK JASMINE & HONEY PERFUME

May favourites

This was included in my favourite fragrances post. But within this month it’s become more and more of a favourite of mine. It’s just the perfect scent for this time of year as it’s so fresh and light. And this might be tmi but it’s getting hotter, we’re getting sweatier. And this perfume sticks around all day! It’s been perfect for in the day and going out whether it’s with friends, family or on date night. I also just want to stress that this perfume is £8?!

I’m a huge fan of plasuits, they’re a great alternative when you’re not a big dress person. They look great and they’re confy! And I’ve been wearing this New Look playsuit none stop. Luckily, we’ve had a few heat waves in England so it’s given me more opportunities. Plus it’s petite! The material of this playsuit is perfect for summer as it’s a lovely thin crinkle material. And it’s nice and flowy so there’s not going to be any sweaty situations. It’s also in my favourite colour which I think looks great on everyone. I’m also here for the knot front trend at the moment so this playsuit is a wardrobe staple for me now!

SAFE

Holyyyy cow. If you haven’t watched the series ‘Safe’ on Netflix yet. Stop whatever you’re doing, binge it and thank me later. I don’t want to give much away but if you love everything of a classic British murder mystery and Michael C Hall, you’ll love this. Honestly I watched all of the series within 20 hours, they’re so good at making you want to watch the next episode straight away. Highly recommend.

And there are my faves for May! Hopefully I didn’t butcher the beauty talk but I’d love to know what you’re loving this month!
