I’ve recently been getting myself into more of a routine when it comes to skincare. As for me skincare is cardinal, and having some sort of routine really helps get the most from my skincare. And especially come summer I’ve been enjoying my pamper evenings. Which I tend to have weekly or bi-weekly, depending on how my skin has been that week. And I think I’ve found my perfect team of products for a summer pamper evening, to give your skin a pick me up and to give yourself a little treat yo’ self moment. So I thought I’d share my summer pamper evening essentials whether you’re trying to get more into a routine, or you just want to treat yourself.
Now, we all have our preferences. But personally I’m a shower girl. I know for relaxing pamper evenings baths can be the favourite, but go with whatever tickles your fancy. Anyways, I like to start off with a soak in the shower and I’ll do my usual hair routine and then also add in a hair mask to give it a little bit more life. I’ll also exfoliate my body, shave if I need to and soak myself in a fruity scented shower gel to make me smelling like a snack. Although it’s a pamper evening, I always make life quicker and exfoliate my face in the shower – I don’t use too much exfoliating stuff as I find it too harsh. But the Clean and Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash is perfect. It isn’t as harsh on your skin and gives a nice buff to get any dead skin and dirt.
I loveeee face masks, and my collection is quickly growing. They do wonders. And recently I’ve been loving the Generation Clay Ultra Violet Brightening Mask with Davidson Plum. Brightening skin products have become a big necessity in my routine as I loveee how they make your complexion look afterwards. And this face mask is no exception I’m in love. Firstly, for a clay mask it dries quickly which is great for a lazy gal like myself. Also a little goes a long way with this product and the results are fab, it’s perfect for getting that summer glow! However it does say that the ingredients contain a natural AHA which makes your skin more sensitive to the sun, so definitely pop on an SPF after!
A GOOD READ
Of course something to do whilst you wait for the face mask to do it’s magic. And in the evening I like to try take a break from the screens. So I always opt for a good book or some drawing. And I think nothing beats a good summer read. Currently I’m reading ‘A Reunion of Ghosts’ which is fab, 100% recommend. If you’re not a big reader maybe listen to a podcast, do some yoga or meditate or maybe just have some tea! Anything to relax you and get your ready for bed.
I do also do my general skincare routine, just add a little ‘umph’ to it. So I’ll cleanse and pop on my staple Hyaluronic Acid by The Ordinary to moisturise my face. And then I’ll either put on The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream or a classic fave, Neal’s Yard Wild Rose Beauty Balm. If I’m feeling extra fancy I’ll massage my face and give it the full works, which does wonders. However usually I just pop it on right before bed, especially in areas my skin is particularly dry and I wake to soft smooth skin. This is great to help boost your skin after being in the sun, and prep your skin for sunny days.
And there are a few of my summer pamper evening essentials! What are in your essentials?
