I’ve been thinking a lot about Spring recently. Mainly because the skies are finally blue and the suns making an appearance and I’m so ready for Spring. And there’s so much Spring inspiration going around. It’s the season which I always neglect, but I do always love. A breath of fresh air after the cold winter months. Still a little chilly, but at least you can head out without 6 layers and still end up sniffling every other minute. The season where everything starts to bloom and come alive again, and is pretty darn beaut.
So I thought I’d so something a little on the old blog. As if there’s one thing I love doing is mood-boarding, for literally ~everything~. I spend all too much time on my Pinterest finding ideas and inspiration for everything. With that being said, I thought I’d do a little Spring moodboard. What Spring is bringing, what’s inspiring me, what I’m wearing, what I’m doing – the whole sha-bam.
WHAT I’M WEARING
Kicking it off with an easy one. Le Fashun. I feel like this winter’s trends are very ~spring esque~ anyway with the satin skirts and cardigans. So it’ll be quite easy to transition into the new season. But we all know I have a very basic style and like to stick in my comfort zone of jeans and jumpers. But one thing I’ve been venturing more in are trousers and venturing away from my black ASOS jeans. And I’ve fallen in love with the cream/neutral trouser trend. I’ve been living in my linen blend trousers from Primark (only a tenner too) and they feel like pyjamas! I’m also loving the white/cream mom jean trend, granted, a bugger to wash. But they look great.
Shirts are a staple generally in my wardrobe. But some oversized shirts and blouses are going to be a Spring go-to for me. You can’t go wrong an oversized white shirt, paired with some peg leg trousers fro some workwear, or jeans for casual wear. I’ve also got my eye on some really pretty patterned shirts going around as well.
As far as accessories go, I stick to my staple jewellery most days and it kind of just stops there. But one this I want to delve into more is hair scarfs. Now, due to my dumbo like elf ears, hats and scarfs are kind of a no go. But I’ve been spending way too much time scrolling on Pinterest and I think I’m ready to try and make it work with my hair. Or maybe I’ll look like a 12 year old, stay tuned to find out.
WHAT I’M DOING
Well, one thing I’m hoping to do is travel a little more. This is something more for 2019 in general, but is kind of commencing in Spring. Whether that be to a town near me I’ve not been to yet or jetting to a new city in Europe. I’ve got the travel bug and I’m ready to explore. Although it’s ~technically~ before Spring, I’m heading to Copenhagen at the beginning of March for a few days to explore with some lovely people. I’m hoping to book a trip to Dublin and I’ve also got lots of day trips planned around the UK, including the Cotswolds as I really need to see more of the beautiful area I live in. Travel photography is also something I want to get into more, so hopefully lots more travel content coming your way.
I do this a lot, but as the suns coming out I’m hoping to get outside and walk more. Walking and hiking is probably one of my favourite things to do, and is a great form of exercise (especially when my old lady knees don’t allow me to run anymore). Living in the countryside I’m very lucky that I can take a few steps from my house an be surrounded by fields. And I really want to do that more, just head outside with my camera or take my dog for a stroll and have a break from being on my laptop or on social media. Maybe even take the odd bike ride as well.
SOME SPRING GOALS
I try not to be a big goal setter, but I do like to set little goals here and there. And with the sun making an appearance and everything coming to life again, I’m way more motivated to get stuff done. So here are some goals for Spring:
Work on my photography portfolio
If you didn’t know, I’ve started doing a little bit more photography. And slowly I’ve been creating a little collection of photos from my blogger shoots to create some form of portfolio. I’ve been thinking about making a portfolio for a while now so I’m hoping to get that in the works in the coming months. And also try new concepts and styles to help add to my portfolio. But for now, you can check out my Instagram which I’ll hopefully be more active on.
Start exercising again
I’ve been so unmotivated to exercise and get fit recently. I’ve been trying out yoga for the past few months, and I’ve been loving it. But after the winter months I’m ready to get back on track with getting fit. Don’t take my word for it, but lets hope she can get off her butt.
Give my blog a refresh
I don’t want to call it a re-brand. Because there’s not much of a branding there anyway. But I want to give it a bit of a spring clean and get my aesthetic to a style I like and keep it somewhat consistent. At the moment I seem to have fallen into a moody vibe so I’m just hoping to brighten everything up a little. I’ve been doing (more) moodboarding and content planning as to what I want to ~put out there~.
Give my hand at travel photography
Like I mentioned, I’m hoping to explore more. And I’m also hoping to build my photography portfolio. And travel photography is something I’ve really wanted to try as I’m always so inspired by travel photographers and bloggers. So, like I said, whether I’m just strolling around the Cotswolds or jetting off across Europe I’m hoping to have my camera in hand and will be snapping away.
