G’day campers. Today we’re doing something a little different. Two of my faves, Chloe Plumstead and Hannah Ivy have done this style of post before, and thought I’d do my own little take on it. I’m a nosey person, and love seeing people’s day to day life, whether it’s through daily vlogs, Instagram stories or a little photo diary like these. I’m not organised enough for Instagram stories, nor am I a natural in front of the camera. So thought I’d give you a taste of uncut Em via the old blog.
Granted it’s not that excited, just a lot of food and plants. But I snap a lot of stuff on my phone on a day to day basis (again, mainly plants and food…), and thought it would be a nice way of showcasing these photos. So now, a look into my week, through the medium of my camera roll.
MONDAY
Monday was a quiet admin day for me. It was spent cracking down on my inbox, doing some much needed maintenance on my blog and trying to work on my photography portfolio. With the odd puppy cuddle and cup of tea in between. However, come the afternoon I did decide to venture out of the house for a walk. And when I say walk, the reality is I went and picked up pony poo for an hour. But none the less the sun was shining and the Cotswolds countryside never looked so green and fresh. Had to make the most of the 17 degree weather right?
TUESDAY
Tuesday I hopped on a coach to London town to go see the lovely Stacey. As the sun is beginning to rise much earlier, as am I. Luckily I’m quite the morning person, so I hoped out of bed at the ripe old hour of 5am and revived myself with some tea and cereal. And then ventured off into London town, instantly regretting wearing black jeans when it was forecast to be 18 degrees…
We had a very relaxed day. Met up in Liverpool Street, grabbed some much needed caffeine, took some outfit photos and then headed for lunch. We went to Vurger Co. in Shoreditch for some vegan comfort food (Stacey was given a complimentary meal for her and a friend), and came out looking 7 months pregnant. It definitely did not disappoint. We then took a few more photos and had plenty of giggles before heading our separate ways. As the sun was still shining when I arrived home, I situated myself in the garden with a good book and stayed there for the remainder of the evening reading and watching Oscar sprint around the garden like road-runner on steroids.
WEDNESDAY
Another simple work from home day for me. A lot of my week is either spent at work or sat on my laptop at home, with the occasional shoot in between if I find the motivation. As much as I wanted to be walking around the countryside in the sun, iced coffee in hand, I managed to get quite a bit done. Content was shot and edited, posts were written, emails sent, the portfolio is still a work in progress but we’re getting there. Pat on the back for me. And I did manage to get a photo of these pretty flowers, so there’s that…?
I can very easily get caught up in what I’m doing on these sorts of days. And I’ll find myself typing away until 9pm. So made the conscious effort to shut my laptop down at 6, and enjoy the evening with some ukulele playing and reading my book before bed.
THURSDAY
Ah, a day where I thought I was being practical, and decided to clear my to-do list in Oxford. But just ended up sweaty and carrying way way way too many bags. I got to the centre at around 9:30, and perused until my fitting at Boux Avenue. I was kindly invited to come along for a bra fitting and to try out their new pieces. And having never had a bra fitting, nor did I really know my size, I was intrigued. The experience was very eye opening, and not as awkward as I had though it would be, so go make sure you know your size, ladies.
I then popped some bits up that I needed from some shops and sat down for a coffee and some admin before my shoot. Despite the 18 degree weather, I decided to walk to my shoot to get some exercise in for the day. However wearing both a cardigan and a leather jacket may not have been my greatest decision. To say sweating like a nun reading ’50 Shades of Grey’ may have been an understatement. Nonetheless, mine and Hannah’s shoot went well so we decided to grab some afternoon hummus and flatbread and have a big old catch up. I then started my walk back towards town (don’t worry, I decided not to wear so many layers this time) and then headed home to wrap myself in a duvet burrito and nap the evening away.
FRIDAY
There’s really not much to report from Friday. I had a driving lesson in the middle of the day which takes up most of my energy. So the rest of the day was spend attempting to edit photos. Sometimes it can take me 20 minutes to edit a set of photos. It can also take me what feels like 20 hours at times. However I did go on a long dog walk, drank many cups of tea and ate a very good vanilla cream slice (which my dairy intolerant stomach didn’t agree with a hour later, but oh well it was worth it).
SATURDAY & SUNDAY
I’m going to merge the weekend together. As honestly the days are very much blurred together like any weekend should be. With long naps, breakfast at 3pm, many episodes of American Dad and a hearty roast dinner for the finale. And that does pretty much sum up my weekend. The tables had completely turned from earlier in the week and it was a pretty dreary weekend. So of course we use it as an excuse to stay tucked up in bed for as long as possible. I did do some photo editing in an attempt to be productive. But I like to keep my weekends for myself most of the time. So here’s a random photo from my room I took at the weekend ft. my dying plant.

I love this idea for a series, it’s such a cute way to document your time. I’ve heard the best things about Vurger but I’m yet to try it and I feel like I’m missing out! It’s great that you’re trying to put the laptop down earlier too, I’m so bad at getting caught up typing away all night (I’m saying this while typing at nearly 11pm…) x
