Autumn. This is probably the moodboard I’ve been most excited to create. I love summer and I’m sad to say goodbye to the longer evenings and the sun. But nothing beats crisp air, knit jumpers & long walks in the cold followed by pub roast dinners. Maybe it’s just the Cotswolds girl in me. So of course, I had to do a little moodboard to spread the comfy Autumn inspiration (plus these moodboards are really fun to make).
WHAT I’M DOING
I think Autumn is the best season when you live in the Cotswolds. There’s just a cosy atmosphere and everything looks like something out of a magazine. So it’s safe to say I will be spending my autumn binging Bake Off, taking long walks around the countryside, tucked away in small coffee shops (or pubs) and taking too many trips to the garden centre.
This autumn I’m really hoping to go vegetable picking. A simple activity, but a fun one at that. There are a few pick-your-own farms near me and every year I tell myself to go and yet every year I forget. However I think it’d be great to go pick some veg and then make a big ol’ veggie pie. It’s Bake Off season, it’d be rude not to.
I’d also love to take some city trips. I finally bought a car so my list of towns and cities I want to visit is piling up. Currently on the top of my list is Bath and Cambridge, both of which aren’t far from me. So I’m hoping I can take a few day trips and do some exploring, camera in hand of course.
WHAT I’M WEARING
I’m writing a good old Autumn wishlist which will be up soon. So I’ll keep this bit short and sweet. But it’s no secret I love autumn fashion. It’s my favourite time of year for fashion. Chelsea boots, cosy knits, bucket bags and alllllll they layering. I love it. My style never really changes, I just incorporate trends into my staples. But my wardrobe needs a little top up, so this season I’m on the hunt for all the knitwear, I love oversized pieces that you can layer on and pop tops under as the sudden hot flush that comes when you step inside is never fun. I’m also aiming to source my wardrobe as sustainably as possible. Whether that be from sustainable brands, depop or the charity shop or buying long term pieces that’ll last.
SOME AUTUMN GOALS
Experiment with photography
At the moment I’ve really been focusing on my portfolio which has been great. But I think I need to be a bit brave and try some new concepts and editorial styles. I’m hoping to do some work for fashion brands and maybe one day getting published. So going to ~manifest~ and put it out into the world.
Get back into blogging
I’ve neglected this little blog a bit. I took a lot of time off in the summer just because I wasn’t feeling motivated, and I’m never too strict with my blog. But I’m feeling more in the mood to get back into it, mainly because autumn content is my favourite to create. And so I’d love to get back into this whole blogging malarkey.
Spend less time on my phone
I spend way too much time on my phone. Granted with blogging and photography it requires you to be on your phone, but I’ve noticed there are times I spend scrolling aimlessly where I could be doing something a little more stimulating or productive. So I want to actively not be on my phone as much, whether that be if I just read my book or do some doodling. The iphone has a feature where it tells you how many hours you’ve been looking at a screen and honestly it horrifies me sometimes. But they also have a great feature where you can set time limits to how long you spend on certain apps and on your phone in general. I’m currently trying to keep it down to around 4 hours, and only 2 of those can be social media. Weekends can be a little more flexible but doing this in the week will help my sleep and productivity.
And there we have it! Can you tell I’m excited for autumn?
